Education, engagement, and story to support your taproom, sales, and staff experience

These yeasts have a unique origin story. They provide a valuable chance to engage beer drinkers with the science, adventure, and flavor of beers (and other fermented beverages) made from them.

We offer various ‘info cards,’ engagement projects, resource links, and educational mini-guides to help you tell the science and adventure story of these unique yeasts in your tasting tours, taprooms, or on social channels (links below). If you’re brewing beers with one of our yeasts, please use them! We just ask you to keep our original copyright and image permissions on the material, because—like the yeast we work with—we love credit for what we create.

Distributors where you’ll find our yeasts:

The Original Wasp Yeast – dehydrated (dry) yeast product exclusively from AB Biotek under the Pinnacle Crisp Sour label (available in South America, North America, Europe, and Asia), distributed in North America by your local Country Malt Group representative.

…and more each day

A sonic engagement experience. Check out our partners at The Microbe Institute, who worked with sound artist Jude Casseday to translate our brewing and fermentation data into music! Sharing data through such multisensory experiences as this—not just in tables and graphs—makes the data more accessible to broader audiences.

These yeasts have TED talks. Visit our press coverage page to see different TED & TEDx talks and media interviews given by our founding scientists. Learn about the adventure story and personalities behind the science.

Diversity in brewing. Dr. Anne A. Madden, one of our co-founders and the original “Microbe Wrangler” who discovered our portfolio of yeasts is part of the Pink Boots Society. Learn more about this organization and its efforts to increase representation and diversity in the brewing industry.

Yeast scale Info-card. See just how remarkable these microscopic creatures are based on their size, thanks to this infographic.

Sour brewing Info-card. How are sour beers typically made? Why is this yeast so unique? Learn about the various ways brewers make sour beers in this info-card.

Tasting Mini-Guide. Sour beers offer a great opportunity to compare flavors of different beer made by different yeasts. Enhance your tasting room tour by adding in one of our yeasts and sharing the notes attached. P.S. Tart beers are particularly well-suited for pairing with rich, unctuous foods such as cheeses, meats, and fried foods. YUM!

Yeast Ecology and Evolution Info-card. It’s no accident these yeasts taste as remarkable as they do. Learn in this info-card about how our science team learned from nature—and deciphered an ancient secret of wasps—to hunt for these yeasts.

Beer aroma Info-card. Learn a few crumbs of flavor science to better understand why your beer might just remind you of a bouquet of flowers and a bowl of tropical fruit in this info-card.

Coloring! Activities! Fashion! Visit our education and engagement partners at The Microbe Institute for yeast coloring sheets, yeast fashion, and other resources to enhance your taproom experience.

A book on beer. Learn more about the science and technical aspects of brewing by purchasing this book written by one of our founding scientists, Dr. John Sheppard.
