Our portfolio of insect-associated Lachancea thermotolerans yeasts have been brewing commercial beer from the nano to the industrial scale (>3,000 L). Below are just a few of the locations where you can taste their work in action. Check out some of these award-winning beers, ciders, and sakes. Note: check with the brewery in question to get a list of their most up-to-date brews.
Deep River Brewing. Cary, North Carolina, USA
Try the award-winning Limonchello* (2017 and 2018 varieties), Sour IPA, or Golden Sour Ale. This beer was featured at a TED conference workshop “Meet your Microbiome” and in the award-winning science documentary “The Kingdom: How fungi made our world.” This beer won the Silver Medal, The Carolinas Championship of Beer 2017.
Ecusta Brewing. Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, USA
Try the Pink Beds, Mountain Mojito Sour, Stinger Sour Ale, or Mojito Sour. *These beers were featured at the 2019 DefCon conference in the Biohacking Village. Pink Beds was featured in a 2020 October Magazine article.

Vinvie Winery and Cidery. Japan
Try some of their ciders, such as “Wasp yeast cider”* and “Bee yeast cider” made with our insect yeasts in association with our Japanese partner Beekoubo. * This cider recently won an award at the 2019 Japan Cider Awards. This cider line was highlighted in a 2020 cover feature in the InCider Japan Magazine.
Chiyonokame Shuzo Sake Brewery. Japan
Try some of the sakes including “Anne Glen” and “Anne Meadow,” made with our wasp and bumblebee yeasts in association with our Japanese partner Beekoubo. * These sakes were showcased at the 2019 Sake World Cup in Tokyo, Japan. They have since been distributed in Japan and Hong Kong.
